VAT returns
If your business is VAT registered, your returns must be kept digitally and submitted through Making Tax Digital compatible software. I prepare and submit them for you, checking the figures before anything goes to HMRC.

MTD quarterly updates
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax requires many sole traders and landlords to keep digital records and send a summary of their income and expenses to HMRC every quarter, followed by a final declaration after the tax year ends.

Company tax returns (CT600)
Every limited company must file a Company Tax Return, form CT600, for each accounting period, even if no tax is due. I prepare and file the CT600 for small limited companies and work out the Corporation Tax owed.

- Bank statements and any loans or assets

Key dates
- Tax payment
- Usually due 9 months and 1 day after the end of the accounting period
- CT600 filing
- Due 12 months after the end of the accounting period
Self Assessment and income tax
If you’re self-employed, a company director, a landlord or have other untaxed income, you’ll usually need to complete a Self Assessment tax return each year. I prepare and file it for you and make sure you know what to pay and when.

- Explaining payments on account
- Filing online with HMRC before the deadline

- Details of any employment, pension or rental income

- 5 October
- Deadline to register if you’re new to Self Assessment
- 31 January
- Online return and balancing payment due

- Second payment on account due, if you make them
